A new year has begun!
By Missy | January 1, 2008
Hi, everybody.
This is the first time I’ve posted, although Richard generously extended the invitation to me months ago.
Everyone feels that with the new year comes new beginnings. I, personally, feel one day is as good as the next if something needs to be done, but thought this might be a window of opportunity to encourage parents to get things in order.
Do you know where your child’s educational records are? I’ll admit it: I know where mine are. They’re all on 1 shelf in my office. Filed? Nope. Sorted? After 5th grade, nope. But, they’re all in 1 space, and that’s a start! So, start by gathering all of your stuff and put it in one place. Maybe together we can organize things!
I’ll post again soon with a “step two.” For those interested in serious file organization, I encourage you to refer to the section on records in the “From Emotions to Advocacy” book by Pam and Pete Wright.
Take care.
